  • What is Equidam and how does it work?

    Equidam was founded in 2013 by Gianluca Valentini & Daniel Faloppa with the clear mission to use innovation in helping entrepreneurs worldwide to know and track their company value in order to grow to new heights. Our name? Equi- refers to the word equity, something we can help you to build and grow, and -dam refers to our location in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Clever, right? Our easy-to-use platform eliminates the need for expensive and time-consuming consultancy making measuring and tracking growth easier for you and your potential investors! In the process of getting to your valuation, Equidam asks you basic questions about your company structure and financials. Once you fill in your answers, our algorithm crunches your numbers and analyzes your data using 5 methods of valuation, spitting out a number that signals your company value. Which methods come into play, you ask? We make use of discounted cash flows (both long-term and with multiples), balanced scorecards, checklists and venture capital.   • Why is it important to know the value of my business?

    Because transactions are part of a company life cycle and any management should work toward value maximization. Tracking the value over time not only improves company’s disclosure to shareholders, but also helps managers to be ready whenever they may need the company value for equity transfers and transactions.   • Are Equidam valuations certified?

    Our valuations are based on business valuation methodologies which are recognized and widely used within the valuation field. This makes our reports legitimate, objective and providing an extensive insight into your company value. If you are interested in getting formal certifications for your valuation reports, do not hesitate to get in touch with us.

Account Registration

Questions about registering to Equidam, basics on using your Equidam account and more:

  • How do I create an Equidam account?

    To create an Equidam account, you need to click on the ‘Sign up Free’ button on our Home Page which will lead you to our Registration page. There you need to 1). fill in your personal and company contact information which you will be using to log into your account in the future, and 2). agree to our Terms and Conditions of Use. Once you do that, you are one button away from entering your personal Equidam dashboard and using a new, simple and affordable way for valuating your business!

  • Is Equidam free?

    Yes, and will always be! Using an Equidam account is free of charges and allows you to discover and monitor the value of your business over time. When you are interested in getting the complete valuation report and unlocking the advanced functionalities, you may consider upgrading your account to Premium. Learn more about the ways in which you can do that on our Pricing page.

  • What is the difference between the Free and the Premium account?

    The Free account allows you to discover and monitor your business valuation and to get access to profits benchmarking. The Premium account gives you all the perks of the Free account plus an unlimited complete valuation report download functionality, a breakdown of the 5 valuation methods used, value benchmarking and advanced financial inputs.

  • I forgot my password, how can I log into my Equidam account?

    You can immediately solve this by using the ‘Forgot Password’ button available on our Log In page. You will then receive an email from Equidam with a link to change your log in password. You can also change your log in password yourself any time through the tab ‘Settings’ on your Equidam dashboard.

  • How can I change my email?

    You can request from Equidam to change your log in email at any time. All you need to do is drop us a message on our in-app chat or at info@equidam.com with your request and new email address.

  • Is it possible to use one Equidam account for evaluating more than one company?

    You can get in touch with us if you are interested in using Equidam for performing business valuations for more than one business. We have a solution in each situation!

  • I would like to remove my entire account, how can I do that?

    We can remove your account manually and upon request.

Platform Usage

Put an end to all your uncertainties regarding completing your profile and get useful tips for using the platform trouble-free:

  • What kinds of company data do I need to prepare for completing the account?

    Our system requires only basic inputs such as a description of your company (in the form of a questionnaire) and a snapshot of the current and projected financial performance your company for the next at least 3 years (only P&L).

  • My business falls into more than one industry category or falls into none, what should I do?

    The most efficient way to set the industry is to think about your business model and which aspect/feature of it is going to have a bigger impact in the longer term.

  • My country is not on the list, what should I do?

    The best thing is to think of a nearby country that appears on our list, which has a similar economic situation to your country.

  • Can I use different currencies for my financial inputs?

    We support multiple types of currencies! You can select and adjust your preferred currency via the tab Financials on your Equidam dashboard. Your currency selection will then change the currency type throughout your whole profile.

  • I do not understand how the automatic calculations on the Financials section are made.

    Net profit is EBIT -+ financial gain/losses – taxes. The EBITDA is a result of your revenues – costs and the depreciation and amortization are estimated based on your industry standards in the form of financial ratio over revenues. Cash flow is calculated by adding and subtracting non-cash items to the net profit (see the report for more detail), while operating cash flow is calculated the same way but it removes non operating items such as long term investments. All parameters are estimated by Equidam according to industry and country parameters. Premium account users can edit them and insert their own figures.

  • The automatically calculated values do not correspond to my own calculations, how can I change them?

    Those figures are calculated automatically on the basis of industry averages for working capital, amortizations, etc. so they could differ from your actual accounting figures. You can fine-tune them if you upgrade to the Premium account version.

  • The platform visualizes a message that I need to update Financials but I completed everything, how can I proceed?

    First, make sure that after adding your details you click on the ‘Save’  button. Another reason could be the returning of a negative valuation by one of our methods, which you could tackle by 1). trying out another industry or 2). increasing the revenues or decreasing the costs in your last projected financial year to make sure that you have a positive cash-flow in that year. Finally, check if you have added an additional financial year using the green arrows on the financial years table and make it is completed and generates a positive cash-flow.

  • I need help with preparing my company financial projections

    Should you experience any difficulties in preparing your company financial projections, do get in touch with Equidam! We can resolve all your uncertainties together in a quick and efficient way!

  • Can I erase all my inputs and can start all over?

    Unfortunately that is not possible at the moment, what you can do is just erase the old entries and add your actual data in your profile.

  • How do I save my inputs on my account in case I want to continue later?

    You can save all your inputs by clicking on the button ‘Save’ after you complete the profile. All your information will be saved and available to you any time you come back.

  • The page freezes and does not allow me to make inputs, what should I do?

    The reason could be related to the device you are using Equidam on. Unfortunately our system is not fully responsive on touch-screen supportive devices, an issue we are currently working hard on resolving.  For the time being we recommend you to use Equidam on devices with no touch-screen functionalities to avoid delays or issues.

Billing

Pay for our services with full confidence about our payment terms:

  • Can I use Equidam for free?

    Yes! The Free account is available to you free of charges. You can also try our Premium account out for two full weeks by inviting three other entrepreneurs to join Equidam! Learn more on our Pricing page.

  • How much do I have to pay for Equidam Premium?

    You can check and compare the available pricing plans that we offer at our Pricing page.

  • Why do I have to pay for a monthly subscription plan?

    Our monthly subscription plan gives you the opportunity to benefit from our unlimited valuation reports download functionality! This means that you can update and change your inputs as many times as you want, since various aspects may need to be fine-tuned or revised throughout the valuation negotiations you are carrying out.

  • What are my payment options?

    The processing and facilitation of the payments you make as you purchase the Equidam services is handled on our behalf by Adyen B.V., a Payment Service Provider. We have authorized Ayden to debit your account in order to purchase our services and it usually takes up to three days on average for your payments to be completely processed. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Ideal (only available for Netherlands), and Direct Bank Trasnfers.

  • How can I stop my monthly subscription?

    You can stop your monthly subscription at any time by using the ‘Unsubscribe’ button is available on the tab ‘Account’ on your Equidam dashboard. You can also request cancellation by contacting us at any time. We will unsubscribe your account and send you a confirmation email afterwards.

  • I would like to get a refund for my payment, is it possible?

    If you are not satisfied with our services, you can request a refund within 7 days from subscribing to the Premium account.  Learn more about the possibilities to get a refund for your payment at our Terms and Conditions of Use page.

  • How can I get the invoices for my purchased months of subscription?

    You can find and download the invoices for all your payments through the tab ‘Account’ on your Equidam dashboard and by clicking on the button ‘Payment History’. Alternatively, we can provide you with your invoices per email upon your request.

Privacy & Security

Feel secure at all times when using Equidam:

  • Is the data I provide on my account kept private?

    Yes, your data is kept private at all times. The information we collect and store is handled and maintained taking into consideration your right to privacy and confidentiality. The whole process is done in accordance with our Privacy Policy which fully complies with the Dutch Personal data Protection Act and the Dutch Telecommunications Act which both follow EU data protection laws. Therefore, your data remains yours at all times (so you can always ask us to delete it) and we are never allowed to share it if it is in any way understandable to which company it refers.
